I got a call from Chatsworth woodbine offering a debt solution where all the money i pay will go to my creditors instead of sitting in a so called pot.

    Hi and welcome

You need to contact one of the debt advice charities for help, not commercial companies that charge you fees

Have a look here IMPORTANT - Where to seek professional impartial advice about your debts.

Read para 2 "Services provided by Chatsworth Woodbine will incur charges please see our FAQ's for more information.

Go with a free DMP like Payplan or CCCS (see sticky on this board).

Any company that names themself after that estate should probably think of renaming.

I would advise speaking to one of the charities rather than payplan.

When you say they want too much money - do you mean they've been through your finances and think you can afford more to a DMP than you feel you can afford? In what areas of expenditure are they budgeting less than you are actually spending? presumably you went through it line by line and compared to actual expenditure.

Their 'allowances' generally are not too bad - and roughly what a creditor would consider acceptable (and then therefore be most likely to agree to freeze interest etc).

Perhaps consider completing and posting a statement of affairs on this forum for people to see if they can help find savings in certain areas, areas it looks like you are spending more than you need The people on here are really good at finding painless savings eg by switching suppliers for things etc.
