I really need some help & advise please

Hi to all,

I have found myself in a rather unpleasant situation and would need advice , opionos , suggestions ...anything that would help me to try and resolve my problem.

Basically
Last year I took a long sick leave as I was fainting uncontrolably and was deemed unfit to travel. Couldn't even have shower on my own as I would black out at any time. My manager Miss M was Ok and understood the situation. I have been trough noumerous doctoras and conclusion was that it was happening as I was very stressed out ( from work but I failed to see it at the time).

I eventually got better and returned to work and things returned to normal. few months later Miss M was replaced by Mr F as she was deemed as old school manager and company was heading for "revolution".

This happened in Summer and by December that year Mr F was trained and ready to take on his post as our new manager. Stress levels of the job still very high but we the staff learned to cope somehow.
I fell pregnant in january and was told by my Gyno that I need to rest if I want to keep this pregnancy. I stayed in bed until my 11th week when I miscarried. I returned to work 3 weeks after and was told that Mr F will be doing my appraisal. ( by this time he only managed me for 2 weeks that i was present at work). He basically marked me unable to do my job and used petty excuses on whole apprasial which are two instances where I did something incorrect but was not there to spot it and correct it whilst I was away so he used this two exaples to justify his opinion of my work. I have been doing my job for 5 years and have never had a bad appraisal - ever !!!

Due to constant harrasment from him whilst i was at home resting to make this pregnacy stick he would be giving me grief. I kind of swallowed that but when i saw my appraisal and my markings I decided enough was enough and spoke to ACAS and told them the whole story. they were very helpfull and put me in touch with another organisation who the decided that i have a case for sexual discrimination.

To cut the story short my HR was totally uninterested and decided to take me off that post and asked me to job swap with another person which meant i would report to a different manager. i was happy to do this. But wanted to resolve my Appraisal as we just learned that this is an important appraisal due to us being taken over by another company so their HR will take this into consideration. HR still ignoring me so I followed all the usual grievance steps and threatened to sue Mr M for sexual harrasmenet. As soon as this was mentioned HR got their skates on and decided to get involved. The apprasial was then done by my original manager Miss M. So this issue was put to rest.

Now - the situation is like this: our senior management is leaving end of this month apart from one who is staying. Mr F is also staying and I have been told I have to report to him again !!!

I can't belive this is happening to me - after all the issues and everything else they decide he is to be my new manager !!!

I don't know what to do - I want to contest this as I do not agree with the decision and given the past experience he is unfit to manage me. Also my job has changes and the 80% of my current work description and tasks has nothing to do with him - only 20% does. So how will he be able to manage me when he doesn't have any experience in what i do is beyond me.

Is there a way of appealing for this ?

pls anyone if you have been in simmilar situation can you pls let me know or even PM me.

I am desperate and haven't stopped crying since I found out this morning.

:cry::cry::cry:

Write a letter formally to your current manager expressing your concerns as a first step. State it is an informal grievance at this stage, but put down everything that you've told us. Keep a copy of the letter.

Point being, they will try to smooth it over with you and to be fair, you'll probably have to report in to him still if there is no one else you can report to. They will also say things like you need to give him a chance that it will be ok this time. (and to be fair, you do need to from a company perspective.)

BUT if you get problems in the future, you'll be able to provide proof that you had concerns which you raised at the start. It's an insurance policy for if you have to take action in the future.

    Think longer term.

Doubtless Mr F will be a bit wary of you, I bet he is no more pleased with the situation than you are.
