Called them to make sure they got the CV as you know what HR can be like sometimes, but first in the file apparently.0

I can relate, it eats away at you. I can't imagine how LadyMissA feels being unemployed 18 months or so.0 -

Once.
Two days after being made redundant from my old job due to retirement of owner ( I was the only employee), I saw this job advertised.
The job was practically a mirror image of the one I had just left, (which involved quite new online marketing applications) with some extra exciting sounding bits to it.
Even trying to remain as pessimistic as possible, I thought "There's a good chance with this one".
Anyway, didn't even get an interview!
Had an appointment with the job club when they visited the village I live in and asked what I had done wrong...
His opinion was that my qualifications and experience were absolutely bang on. So reasons for not getting an interview ranged from the job actually being awarded internally, to the employer simply not looking at all the CVs.
Being a bit rural round here, I am looking within about a forty mile radius, which covers a couple of towns, but has there been any other jobs on the market even remotely similar to the one I missed out on......?
Nope, not a chance.....0 -

I know what you mean, because a job fits you so well you almost expect to get it which is how I feel I guess but I know I'll end up in the same boat as you, but what really worries me is what job i'll eventually end up with.0 -
Since you have prior contact there have you thought about trying to get in touch with any management or HR that are still working there and were there back when you were?0

I really don't understand this, for me it's a non issue, I advertised for a role last week, and so far have received 30 Cvs and half of them included a cover letter, I read the Cvs and binned all the cover letters.
Even funnier, he told me one was not even in English!0 -
Oh, you don't want or read cover letters? The advert he placed stated they had to include one giving reasons for them applying etc and background.
Even funnier, he told me one was not even in English!
My ad stated CV no mention of cover letters, all the info I require is in a CV.0
