Where to buy good quality clothes?

I'm really struggling to find decent places to buy good quality women's clothes that wash well and last. I don't mind spending more for quality, but looking at what has lasted well in my wardrobe, there doesn't seem to be much correlation between how much I spent on an item and how well it's held up!

I used to like M&S clothes but I've found the quality has really gone downhill in recent years. Any suggestions?

I still like M&S, they can be a bit hit and miss but I think their stuff is significantly higher quality than Next. I like natural fibres and M&S are good for decent linen and cashmere garments at reasonable prices.

A recent discovery for me has been COS, which is a more upmarket chain from H&M. It's not cheap but the quality and designs are exceptional. They have a few shops in the UK and a website.

Another more upmarket brand I like is Isabella Oliver 365 (mail order/online only). I was blown away at the quality of the jersey dresses and tunics. It's not cheap but it's significantly better than anything I've seen on the high street.

Jaeger - excellent quality and cut and often have 70% off in their sales which makes them a bargain.

I've recently started shopping in Zara's TRF section. Each piece I've purchased has lasted me quite a while and is quite a bit cheaper than the main Zara line.

Thanks very much everyone - great suggestions. I'm off to have a rummage through the websites.
