I am to catch up shortly, I'm soooo far behind!
I just wanted to tell you all something... I was making my decision to smoke my final cigarette as I was driving home, and thinking I hope my Grandad can see me and would be proud (it was seeing him struggle to breathe in hospital that spurred me on even more)
Anyway, as I decided on the time I saw a beautiful rainbow...some may remember that at my Grandad's funeral I read a poem with my brother "Look for Me in Rainbows" so in my mind I know he's looking out for me and I am now even more determined! Silly some may say but it helps me feel better and closer to him....
So I would just like to proudly announce that as of now I am a NON SMOKER!! :j
Special thanks to French Knickers for reminding me about my Allen Carr book
Mo.
I know this is going to sound quite dumb.....
The first 72 hours are the hardest because that's when the chemicals are still giving you the addiction.
1. Get a 500ml water bottle and keep it filled with either water or very very diluted fruit juice. KEEP THIS BOTTLE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME.
2. Every time you get the urge to smoke drink some fluids and if you can go for a quick 5 minute walk somewhere (even if it's just around the block). The endorphins released by doing even minor exercise suppress the smoking urge and the water keeps you hydrated and gets the taste out of your mouth.
Good luck and after 72 hours it's all about the habit and no longer about the chemistry.0 -
Is chinawhite back, didn't she go for a scan??0

I am a bit grrrrr
Went to T's. Nothing. NADA. NOT A THING
No 1p chocolate, no 4p clothes, nothing. I scanned tons of stuff too :-(
Went to A's for the palmolive, but messed that up a bit as I got 10, not realising they were £1.28 or on multibuy. Still worked out acceptably though as with multibuy it works out that I paid 28p for 10 bottles.
I dont know why i bother with vouchers in A's, they are never straightforward. Today they wouldnt scan or go through manually, so in the end she had to get a supervisor who took ages, and people behind me were taking all their stuff off the conveyor and going to the next one. I ended up making jokes about how bad i must smell! Then she had to get someone else to come and override something so that I could pay!
So not an entirely wasted trip but still disappointed :-(I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. People reporting a problem with the picture size it must be your browser, the picture automatically resizes to fit in the existing layout size for me but I can right click it to blow it up full size. From what some are saying they are getting it full size only?
Sorry about that but I'd suggest you upgrade your browser version to avoid the problem.0 -

Evening everyone.
We popped into Wilkinsons and they had a display at the front of the shop with a few 50p and £1 bargains, bathroom/laundy type things. Managed to get 2 over the door towel rails for 50p each, had one in my hand and decided they were a very good buy and before I could pick up anymore a lady with a trolley came over and cleared the lot. Well she thought she had but luckily I found another at the bottom of the display. She must have had over 6 in her trolley. I would have like one for myself and one each for my older 2 DDs. I could not stop myself from saying out loud, "Oh I would have liked one for xxxx" to my mum, but I could see she was not the type to share as her trolley was full to overflowing of the reduced things.
Should have followed her round the store and nabbed a couple when she wasn't looking!! the're not hers until she's paid for them!!:rotfl:"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin
