I've missed whatever was said earlier if you were saying that people should stop smoking then I heartily agree. It doesn't just affect the smoker but their families too, my FIL has just turned 61 and has been confined to bed for about the last year. He is in the final stages of emphysema and his quality of life has been deteiorating since he was diagnosed in his late 40s. He never gave up straight away when diagnosed so his health became quite bad in his early - mid 50s. Yes it was his choice to smoke but the effect on his children and my daughter is devasting, we have watched a wonderful family man become a shadow of himself unable to care for himself or get out of bed. He is in so much pain just taking a breath that he is now on methadone as well as the morphine he has been on for years.
I'll stop polishing my halo now and apologise yet again if I offend anyone, just my usual gobby self.:o
I agree, I finally gave up 6 weeks before the birth of my daughter as I didn't want to be smoking around her!:D
it gave me all the motivation I needed after years of trying!:cool:Thanks to locarr,I've been invited to the Bzz campaign for the home bake and naturally powered campaign

Thats awful you haven't offended me Flo flo.
I have never smoked even though all my family did do.
Lol, same here mum and dad both smoked, and although unbelievable my MIL who cares 24/7 for FIL still smokes . She is either in the kitchen or by the back door at the other end of the living room where my FIL is in his hospital bed on oxygen. I get so worried that she will blow them all up, the other day the air purifier was steaming behind her and she had an unlit cig in her mouth and was moving my FILs pillows, I looked up and thought she was smoking right by the oxygen tank - I was ready to dive for cover. :rotfl:
She has had surgery for cancer too, her siliva glands, and whilst it is not a smoking related cancer you would think that her hubby having emphysema and then her having the cancer would stop her but no. I just don't get it, I probably smoked about 5 cigs as a teenager and gave it up as a waste of moneyand never worried about it.
I hope everyone who has given up or is trying finds the will power to do so. I know it's hard.0 -

This Simply Add glitch looks a belter.
It's a shame I couldn't even fit a single prawn in my freezer though
I think I'm going to have to invest in a second chest freezer for when the next glitch comes along.Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

Back to T's for me for the meat whoopsies. Hopefully they've discounted them again since lunch time as I can't hang around too long as we're going out later.
All have the double discount so will be taking £2.50 off at the till when buying 3 , so £1 each or less would be nice ( was £2.09 each earlier)0 -
