Morning all, I am watching the apprentice on iplayer - I love the junk shop challenge, I reckon a team of us form here would beat the apprentices hands down.Tiger

It was me thanking Jumble Jack :T:T great buy
I'm hoping for some good DTDs on stuff for hampers to raffle off for our summer scheme, we've been given our usual pittance of funding and need to raise a lot more for the trips because a lot of our kids this year come from very, very low income families and wouldn't be able to afford what we've charged in previous years and we don't want any of them to be left out so are planning to charge no more than £1 - £2 per trip (works out at no more than £20 for 4-5 weeks, less if more than 1 child in the family) depending on how much we have to pay for admittance and travel. Thankfully most of the trips are nearby so most of them will only be 50p but a few are a lot further away.
I just love how they think that a lot of families can afford to pay more than £40 per WEEK to send their child to one of their schemes, I'd love them to come a talk to some of our parents many work 2 jobs just to make ends meet and the rest lost their jobs but don't want their kids to miss out.
One has told me that her kids won't be at the scheme because the family can't afford to pay for more than one child and doesn't feel it would be fair to send one and not the other 2. I've told her to leave it with me and I'd see what the commitee says but can't see them making her pay for more than one when she's supported the scheme and after schools club for years. I've that meeting next Wednesday to see what they say but usually they just say for the parent to pay the registration fee only and not worry about the trip fee.
Should go well but if it doesn't we're trying to raise funds in other ways. I'm getting bags of sweets (12p ones) to sell and get us started, I'm hoping they go down well with our parents just have to get a better selection as so far have only got the love hearts and haribo heart gummies. Also thinking of asking about starting our tuck shop up again and getting reduced stuff to sell there to make a small proffit.Fabulous idea & great plans - hope all works out for the benefit of your people ♥
Are you still getting your keys tomorrow?

Any of you MSRers doing SSM?
Ive just logged onto mission control and a 'concrats you have just earned 'the chosen one' sticker.
Does anyone know what it is? It wasnt one of the stickers I had left unclaimed, and its not converted into a reward, so I'm a bit confused!0 -
