Hi there, been having a clear out of cds and looking at getting rid of some of the older ones, one I have is going for £20+ on fleebay as a buy it now price, and £20+ on amaz*n. I've only ever sold odd bits of furniture on the first and never sold on the second, are you less likely to get a good price as a first time seller?
any collective words of wisdom for a newbie cd seller please?

Hi Carolbee,
I saw your post about your CDs and thought I would reply.
This is an area Ive been working in for the last few years, trying in vain to make it worthwhile!!
As a first pointer, always check the completed listings on Ebay so see what the recent valuse are and if they are selling at all.Sorry if you already know this lol
After selling off some of my older cds I realised a few things....
First, there are always certain items that sell consistantly......and secondly if I could find those on a regular basis I would be laughing.....but that is proving more difficult lol
Hope this helps!!

Partly depends on if you need quick money or are prepared to wait. Ive listed cds on amazon or play, subsequently forgotten about the listing and been rewarded with a decent sale a few months later. All of these sources take quite a chunk of the proceeds, so auctions may work out better but its more of a gamble.
Avoid selling to countries outside of Northern Europe unless the buyer is prepared to accept that any loss due to postal service is not your responsibility or pay extra for recorded delivery.. Thankfully never had a contested sale, although sending some vinyl to the US took about two months and the buyer was rightly questioning this.0
