Pension help

Can I draw my teacher's pension, retire and still work in a shop, say? I am 57 and wanted to reduce my working week to 4 days from September but this has not been allowed. I am now thinking of retiring after next year and drawing my pension - am I allowed to get another, totally different (and less demanding) job too?

Sorry if this is a silly question...:o

Yes you can draw your pension and continue to work.

Yes I drew my pension out early, jumped off the career bandwagon and now work in a shop plus several other jobs - it all adds up to nearly as much as I earned before and with much more freedom and less hassle.

I have also just become eligible for my state pension too, but that's no reason to stop working either-I now enjoy going to work!

Do you need to wait until next year?
