scam letters - fraud?

Hi Guys,

I just wondered if any of you could advise me who to contact about scam letters claiming debts that never existed?

My OH is currently undischarged BR, and recently recieved a letter claiming to be from a debt recovery firm, threatening court action (you know, the usual) but the debt is not one he ever had, believe me I know, I have been the one going through every piece of paperwork regarding his finances for his whole adult life!
Anyway, they sent another letter today saying that they'd offer a "discount" on the debt if he just paid a fee, and that they could arrange someone to collect it....I am assuming this is some kind of scam thing but didn't know who to report it to?
Honestly I get so sick of this all at times, I wonder if the recent flurry of demands and threats (all the others having been from actual debts that went into the BR as far as i recall) are because he is in the final quarter of his year?
thanks in advance

hi......................simply forward the letter to the Official receiver for them to deal with.

If it is a fraudulent, they will discover it, and possibly deal with it accordingly.

If it turns out to be for a debt you have not discovered, then ..providing it pre-dates the date of BR, it will be included within the BR.

As I said, forward it to the OR's office.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
