What else do you call them? They had jobs given to them to fill, and were pushing people into taking them. They get paid when they get people into work. That's pretty much an agency.

They told me no such thing when I was put on the work program. If they did, I wouldn't have had to ask.
IF you really think they are agencies then they again have mislead you.

I didn't actually call them agencies, but they *do* operate like them and they *are* very similar in how they deal with "clients".

Anyway, thanks for the information but I'm not here to get into silly arguments.

IMO and experience as I am on the WP too they are nothing like agencies and when I said they weren't you said 'What else do you call them?' Well they are PROVIDERS of the Work Programme and they get paid even if you find your own job where agencies don't so are nothing like them

It sounds like you misunderstand what I'm talking about so perhaps I'll just leave it here.

I can handle signing on right now, since they pretty much leave you to look for work by yourself, which suits my current situation, but I really can't handle being forced into patronising "courses" and pushed into applying for jobs that I am quite evidently not suited to.

You may be able to "handle" signing on and being paid your JSA, but you obviously weren't handling getting a job because you would have had to be long term unemployed to be put on the work programme in the first place. Frankly it sounds to me like "suiting your current situation" translates as getting paid benefits and not really making any effort to get a job because they "leave you alone". What you think you are suited to and what jobs you can do are two different things. Since the providers of the work programme are only paid by results - the number of people who get jobs and stay in them for a minimum length of time - then there is no benefit to them in having you apply for jobs that you can't do. Jobs you won't do is a different kettle of fish. If you don't want to do a job then that's your choice, but then you don't get benefits.

You need to be signed off so that the time between when you first were refered to the WP and the day you make a new claim is 2 years - 104 weeks. If you claim before this time then you go right back on the WP

    So example
If you started the WP in August 2011 then signed off in December you can not claim again without going right back to the WP untill 2013 August (obviously after the date you were refered)

sorry but are you sure about this? is there any link were this can be confirmed?

I was referred to WP a year ago while I was still on JSA,but I claimed sick benefit due my long term health condition was getting worse, and I never actually attended any WP appointments and did not start it.
the provider started sending me appointment letters again after 3 months which were for my old JSA claim, after calling them I found out the JC had not send them change of circumstances due internal errors.
I spoke to my JCP advisors a few times and they've said I do not need to attend WP.and tried to send the change of circumstances to the provider.
I was wondering if decide to move back to JSA after another few months when my health improves(a total of 14-15 months since my old jsa claim) will I be put back straight on WP? it would be a new claim and time requirement of WP not met yet?
