Why Thank-you Bugsy, I really appreciate your positive response, some people on here really like to stick the knife in. Your response however was the type of response I was looking for. Thanks once again.
No I was applying for the Loan for a general household upgrade, but I can do without it, I'll stay away from Betting sites and PDL's for a while and try again. I was just really annoyed at the building society looking through my accounts but at the same time it does make sense that they would reject me on those grounds as that's all they can really go on.0 -
So, in summary, you are getting loans to fund your gambling and wonder why Nationwide won't let you borrow some more.
As you so quite rightly express yourselfits no wonder people have no option but to declare bankruptcy, QUOTE]
So quick to judge PHYTHIAN, who said I get PDL's to gamble, that's crazy, I got a totally of 3 PDLs over the last 8 months to help out a friend that was in trouble. Plus I would put the odd saturday football bet on around £10 at most.
He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone!!!!!!0 -
Basically they have declined the Loan due to me getting the odd payday loan from Wonga and also for using MY MONEY to have the odd bet online. I feel this is a breach of my civil rights as for the fact that they acutally looked through my statements to see money coming from Wonga and money going to BET 365. How and where I spend my money is of no concern to them, as long as my bills are paid on time each month. Which I can assure you they are.
Dont see you have a case for breach of civil rights.
Yes your entitled to spend your money as you see fit but if you have a splurge on some pdl's and/or some extra bets then maybe NW are concerned you will face problems repaying the loan0 -

But look it from Nationwide's side. A payday loan and then gambling with days of each other??
If as you say, the loans are for a friend then you must be extremely naive if you are prepared to mess up your own credit history by getting them 3 loans in 8 months. Why can they not get them themselves?? I think you're making it up as you go along and realised you're way of living is catching up with you.
As for ' let he who is without sin etc' ...don't understand why you've written that or quite how it fits in with your argument but OK I'll cast this to you. I regularly play online poker and spend a limit of £100 per month. I can afford it. I am in the fortunate position of having no loans, no debts and a decent paying job. In months where my wife and I are saving for something, I don't play until I can afford to...it's called self-discipline.Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -

Well if it where a normal loan from a bank 3 times in 8 months which I can assure you is always paid back in full and on time surely this would increase my credit rating, just because its a PDL it blackens my name, well maybe I am naive not thinking it through. The reason for my quote was simply due to the fact that you and many others on this site just jumped right down my throat for the off. I have a very well paid job and my football bets wouldn't reach £100 in 3 months never mind a month. You also cannot talk to me about self discipline as you clearly DO NOT KNOW ME!0 -

The friend has bad credit and was desperate for the cash
or
the friend is such a long term friend of the OP that the OP trusts the friend to repay him back0 -
I think calling the OP a gambler is a bit extreme just because they have a betting account, I know Many people who have William hill accounts but they do it because it's easier then going to the bookies, but they don't suffer Credit declines, it's the lender seeing into things what probably is not true therefore putting PDL and gambling together.0
