i am retiring on ill health grounds aged 52 will i still have to pay national insurance contributions out of my pension?

Ring the DWP and ask for a state pension forecast,
You only need 30 years contributions to claim a full state pension so ask them how many you have.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

just to clarify
NI is not deductable on any pension
however, if you do not have 30 years of NI contributions (or equivalent) it may be worthwhile make voluntary payments0
