Monsoon Mid-Season Sale starts tomorrow - many items straight to 50% off!

Hello,
I've just spent 8 hours marking down stock for the mid-season sale which starts tomorrow. There is sooooooooooo much stuff and I can't believe how much is going straight to half price! There are lots of LBDs (little black dresses) and wrap-around dresses and also tonnes of boucle jackets/long cardigans in pretty much every colour!
(I'm surprised that there are a few best sellers in there too... but then if an item nearly sells out, and there's only a couple left, they tend to get taken off the shop floor to make way for more stock. Usually a few months later they get reduced and put out in the sale). :T
I am pretty certain that not everything will be put out on the shop floor tomorrow as there is quite a lot, so do ask the lovely sales assistants if there's something you're after!
love the Monsoon fairy! :A
edit: oops, should have said I can only vouch for the Brighton branch! But I'm sure it's the same nationwide! D'oh

Really strange question, I know, but what happened to all of your Christmas window displays....had a strange hankering for one of those glitter balls (Monsoon or Accessorize?) :rotfl:
Thanks0 -
Ummm .. did you notice any nice little crop jackets in the sale :rolleyes:0
-
by cropped jackets do you mean bolero-cardi style or proper jackets? I don't recall seeing any boleros...but I still have more marking-down to do tomorrow
I think there were some really nice black short wool jackets, similar to this one: http://www.monsoon.co.uk/content/ebiz/monsoon/invt/93190072/93190072_m1.jpg
As for window displays, for goodness sake please ask as most stores will take your details and call you when it's time to change them! Much better than them going to waste - that really upsets me! Some of them are gorgeous aren't they? We usually suggest customers could make a donation to the Monsoon Trust Charity in return for window decorations (once we've checked with the visual-merchandising dept). One lady came in to enquire, and ended up using the window decorations to kit out an entire marquee for her daughter's wedding!
wyebird - I don't recall mirrorballs being in the Christmas window, so that must be accessorize....0 -
Will childrenswear be in the sale?0

- Also, if anyone happens to still want hats/gloves/scarves/mittens etc at 70% off, then ask as they may still be available (they are in Brighton) but won't be out on the shop floor anymore.0 -
If you want to see what has gone in the sale today, some of it is now available on the Monsoon website:
http://www.monsoon.co.uk/icat/womanmssale
I have to say though, that our branch has got about 3 x the number of items in the sale than the website is showing. Also, only a couple of rails of sale stock are actually out on the shopfloor so I'd advise you to ask if you're after anything in particular.
Mid-Season Sale reduction is currently ranging from 20% - 50% off.
Remaining January Sale is all 70% off.0 -
Could you tell me how the sizes measure up? I've seen some stuff I like online but aren't sure what size to get - are they generous like tescos or small like other places (spot where I usually shop hehe) ?
Thanks0 -
As a general rule, I've found that sizes for womenswear generally come up 1/2 - 1 size bigger than say, H&M & Dorothy Perkins et al; they are pretty similar to M&S (possibly a fraction bigger).
For example, if you are a size 10-12, I'd say definitely go for the 10. If you are usually a 12-14, go for a 12....etc.
Hope this helps
(If you are buying from the website, you could always buy more than one size and then take the wrong size back to a shop)0 -
*Please Note*
Returns policy for sale items is only 7 days if purchased from a store and 14 days if purchased from the website (for a refund with receipt).0 -
Hi Circusmouse, Thank you for the heads up!
I might just have to come to the Brighton store tomorrow and have a nosey! Do you know if accessorise also has a sale? I know they are in different locations in brighton so you might not know?
Many thanks!Competition Challenge 2007 - Win your internet fees back in prizes = £349.87/£1560
