Check me out, I'm living the myth
I need a new brollie, I'm looking for good places to get one. Key requirements are:-
Automatic opening/closing action
Wind resistant so it doesn't blow open easily
Needs to be fairly portable, i.e. not a full length huge golfing brolly.
Any toptips for a good brolly and/or suppliers?

Try Poundland.
I left a good umbrella on the train last year and the only place I could get a replacement in New Street Station was Poundland. Survived several gales and still going strong. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Picked up a nice one in Lidl last week, even has a carrying strap to put it over your shoulder.0

This place is fab (https://www.brolliesgalore.co.uk) - really quick delivery - some good priced quality umbrellas (as well as some more expensive ones!). Just check out their chocolate umbrella (https://www.brolliesgalore.co.uk/acatalog/Chocolates.html) - I bought one of these about a month ago - they're fab!!!!0

i would have thought that the primary requirement of an umbrella was to keep you dry, this doesn't obviously concern you as it was not on your criteria list. You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -
Noticed that :
http://www.tchibo.co.uk/
Have a range of umbrellas but the one suiting your requirements is out of stock online. You may have a shop near you though...
Tchibo stuff is usually good quality but I've not tried their umbrellas.

Try the Fulton wind proof ones. They are great - very rigid!!
I have an automatic wind proof one - it will open even in reasonably windy conditions!!It cost me around 15 quid in Debenhams although it is not the smallest one around!!
