Unable to get a loan......
Hey everyone
After a bit of advice if you can help please.......
My other half has applied for a few loans of £9k (A&L, Sainsburys and Egg) over the last few weeks and has been turned down for all of them........?!?
We've got copies of his credit reports which are fine - he only has a credit card and a monthly phone contract, he is on decentish money - so why is he getting turned down??......just to note that he doesn't use his credit card anymore and is paying it off.
We dont have a land line, and have only lived in our current place for 5 months, previous to that 9 months, 9 months again and 4 years - so could this be the reason why??
Also, I have awful credit history, but we aren't financially linked and I haven't shown up on the credit reports - so I dont think I have affected him, do you think?
Any advice, what to do next etc. would be gratefully received.
Have a great evening!

It can be a whole lot of reasons but I think it may be the fact your time at previous addresses is quite alot in the last few years. I might be wise getting your name on the Electrol Role to show your serious about staying in one place, also the fact that he's applied for a few loans in the few weeks can have an affect.
I'd write to the companies and ask Why? you've been rejected get a proper personal answer rather than a general bog standard answer.
I've notice that the companies are trying to come across as more responsible lenders and when I've applied recently that I too have been rejected.
So I'd just wouldn't applied for loans for a few weeks."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre

Thanks for your reply. We have always register ourselves on the electoral roll, it's just unfortunate that we had to move so frequently over the last couple of years.
I just hope that my credit isn't affecting him......0
