hi
yesterday i used an ATM, and at the end of the transaction the screen read "please take your card and your cash", but neither actually come out.
I phoned the bank (first trust) to cancel the card, and they told me that the money would be credited to my account over night, but today it is still not there. I called them again and they told me as yesterday was not a working day it will be tonite before it is credited, and if it is not to go into a branch and fill out a form to reclaim it, and if they agree with me that the money did not come out, it will be credited in 10 days  prob longer with the easter holidays
does anyone have any experince of this, and can let me know roughly how long it did take to get their money back
it was £130, why dont these things happen when you only ask for a tenner!!

My FIL had a similar situation where he asked for £40 but only £20 came out. He's with the Halifax and called them up. It was a Northern Bank machine and from memory the Halifax told him that there would be a discrepancy in the cash log in the machine.
I think the Halifax had to chase the Northern about this for about 3 weeks before he got his money back. Now that was about 4 years ago now I'm sure, things may have changed since then.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

This happened to me, I phoned my bank (Co-op) and they sent a request to RBS (it was their cashpoint). It took 26 days  I phoned my bank a couple of times and they said the request had been put through on the day I'd reported it, they were waiting for RBS to refund.
The Co-op were quick to send a replacement card though.Bulletproof0 -

Years ago, on pay day. Went to A.T.M. in Belfast after work and machine ate my card. Had to walk 5 miles home, no cash on me.0

and then they charge you for the "privilege" of replacing your card:mad:0

I'm sorry FT charge you to replace the card? Seriously?
I would be leaving the bank quick snap. I never understood why anyone banks (current account at least) with our big 4 banks. Their rates and account benefits are usually useless.0 -
