Monday 2nd April - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all!

Just experienced that terrifying 'will this double post' moment, so hopefully not!

Not quite ready and not quite raring to go yet for another week, but hey, it's a short one!

Today I will:
Check banks
Check credit cards
Check TCB
2lts water
Food from stores
Log food with calorie counter
Revise for exam
Print off HMRC form to claim back difference in mileage
Post test item
Wrap some birthday presents for a friend
Look into online glasses
Do some form of exercise this evening, slacking since I got a cold!
Look into travel insurance, usually just go for cheapest but after having cause to use it a little while ago, and having an awful experience, will look into it a bit more!

Think that's it for the day, for now, have a great one!

    Morning all

    Today I have/will
    • checked the bank - looks low but nothing major to spend now but no more paydays either
    • try and keep spends to a minimum today - need milk as we get through it at a rate of knots here
    • post some fleabay items 2nd class of course. Might pick up some more stamps too before the price rise
    • no washing today - got it all done yesterday and line dried
    • hope courier turns up to return shoes so DH can have his refund (although the company website says this can take 4-6 weeks!!)
    • try and look after Mum as she is still really low
    • try not to think about working again as no-one seems to think I need to only me
    • try not to be tempted by all the lovely new cardmaking products on TV this morning. Must make some cards and pop them on fleabay to try and clear some of my stash
    • find time for a bit of cross stitching later
    • off to the solicitors later to sign our wills - more cash in their pockets again
    • try not to visit the stitchy shop across from the solicitors - I really do not need any more stash
THink that's it for today. Have a good one everybody

    Morning all!

It's really cold here this morning, bit of a shock when I took the dog out! The little angels are off school so only working wed and thurs this week but thankfully friends are helping out with childcare.

Kjp, have you tried round your independent opticians for glasses? Ours are really competitive and one has lastyear's sunglasses half price at the moment.

    Today I will:
    • Post fleabay parcel.
    • Check the bank account.
    • Not spend any money on entertaining the kids, it's a walk by the river planned for today!
    • Meals from stores.
    • Try and sneakily declutter a few things.
    • Go to sm to get rolls for tomorrow's big picnic. Fingers crossed for the weather!
    • No washing to do but massive pile of ironing.
      [LIST/]

      Have a good Monday all.:D

Darn it, what happened to my list! sorry folks, can't type it out again, got chores to do!

  • Morning all.
First day of hols so I fully intend to make the most of it... even if the nice weather has decided to hide and leave us with the threat of snow tonight and tomorrow. There's lots for me to do so I need to pull myself round and make a start.

;) check bank account (was short paid this month for my day off on strike last November - they took their time)
;) transferred my birthday money into savings account
    ;) check for surveys
;) write a long list of things I need to get done over the hols
;) get the last few big wedding things sorted out (cake and flowers still looming large on my list)
;) buy a load of stamps ready for posting wedding invites before the prices go up.
;) try and convince OH to get a suit hired
    ;) flylady
    ;) stick with my diet

There's loads to do, but I'm also determined to stay up to date with this forum as I've really neglected it while I've been so busy.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hello you lovely lot! I'm a bit short for time right now, so I'll be as quick as I can:

Over the weekend, I (we in some cases) did:

    - Stripped the bed, washed the bedsheets, flipped the mattress, hoovered and cleaned under bed, and tightened the fixtures so it doesn't squeak everytime I turn over.
    - Decluttered and cleaned the coffee table
    - Washing up X 3
    - Clothes washing X 3
    - Cleaned and de-bugged (as in germs, we're not spies! lol) lightswitches, TV & ON/off switch, remote controls. Basically anything that we commonly touch frequently.
    - Put clean clothes away
    - Cooked from stores (mostly)
    - NSD X 2 (only went out to English shop, and OH gave me money for that)

OK, and this morning so far:

    - Sent email to request appt change, though it may be too late
    - Chased work about goals, and mid-year meeting
    - Put some more clothes away before leaving for work, and also put clean sheet in bedroom, ready to be folded and put away

    For later, I plan to:

    - Email those friends of mine, and see what they're up to/how they're getting on
    - Have a look at Ebay pile and see if it's stuff that I can really sell
    - Declutter sofa
    - Food from stores
    - Bring own lunch (all except apple - the apples i bought last week were either already nibbled at (by what I don't know! ICK!), or truly disgusting!)
    - Dinner from stores
    - HOOVER THE **** RUGS!!! (I wanted to do this yesterday, but also wanted to clean coffee table fist and then ran out of time).
    - Be strong at work (well, I'll try - I make no promises)

OK, I hope everyone's well. I've not had time to catch up or read this thread in full. Hopefully I'll have time later.

    Have a good day all!
