"I wish I were an alien at home behind the sun.."

So April Fool's day seems a good day to start my debt-free diary, seeing as it was foolishness that got me and OH into debt.:rotfl:

LBM for me was in October, OH is slowly getting to his.

My plan of action is to finish clearing my debt, then throw repayment to OH's card, this should take us to xmas. Then in the new year use a super balance cash transfer at 0% from mint to pay off his loan in one go, and pay the cc the repayments from both of us (£420).

All being well we should be debt-free by Oct 2013, and can start putting all that debt repayment money to good use :T - DS will be needing driving lessons by then and we have said that we will pay the 1st years insurance if he pays for a car.

So that is my 2 year plan, I'm just hoping the mayans got it wrong and the world won't end in Dec 2012, 'cos that will really P me if that all that hard work will be for nothing:rotfl::rotfl:

I've only just gone back to my diary. I abandoned it when I hit a rough patch and now I've decided it's time to get back on track.

Looking forward to havin a gossip :)

  • Plan
    [STRIKE]exercise [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]buy ds study guide[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]spend day with ds[/STRIKE]
    do some washing

    Food Diary
    banana
    cheese salad
chicken curry and 3 pieces of naan bread

Oh came home early to day as his work is quiet (but still got paid - yay) so the 3 of us spent the day in the warm playing board games. We haven't done this in ages, it was such good fun, just chatting and laughing. Went to smiths to buy study guide as i had been given a £5 voucher but it wasn't in stock, i went to order one and was told i couldn't use the voucher with orders. So i asked if i could buy the book return it to stock and buy with voucher. A bit cheeky i know, but the woman in the shop said that thats not on, to which i replied it's not on that i can't take advantage of the offer just because they don't have the book i needed in stock. It is from a range that they do stock - aqa gcse guides. So came home, looked on amazon and it's just over a tenner instead of the £14.99 in the shop, so guess where my money is going!!

    Hi Snozeberry
Thanks for the post, the name of my diary is a line from 'wishlist' by pearl jam. It's a lyric i think about when i want to escape from everything;)

  • So not a great 3 weeks - too many silly spends, no exercise and the diet - well:cool:

Time to get back up and start again. It's daft that i'm finding it hard to stay on track now that i've paid so much back. I think it's because repayments have slowed and i know i will not be able make my overly ambitious goal of debt free by the end of june. So instead of trying harder, i just go off and make silly spends:(

    So new plan:
No buying kindle books till next payday
Stop buying lunch and tea in town
Don't worry about the diet, but get moving/exercisng
Keep goals realistic - and don't let negativity sabotage them

  • So monthly tesco shop done, managed to shave off £40 from my budget, so that can go off my card, add the £15 I managed to save from last weeks weekly money i can pay £55 off my card tomorrow. Which will bring my total debt down to £985.

    Finally under the £1000 mark:j:j:j:j

So i just need a final big push on my debt and then i can start to attack oh's debt.

:(Bad news being that it looks like i'm going to lose my family tax credit of around £40 a month - oh well

  • Paid the extra £55 off the cc today - so i am offically under the £1000 mark woooooooooohoooooooooo:j:j:j

I've sat in work most of the day with a daft smile on my face, I can't remember the last time i owed less than a thousand, and it really feels like i am finally getting somewhere at last.

I'm knackered after a 13 hour shift, the worst bit is the single manning -with no customers in i just feel like i'm going to nod off, so i drink far to much coffee and then wonder why i don't feel ready to sleep when i get home.

Must update my snowball tomorrow and ring the council to see if the road closure application has gone through ok.
