Settling CCJ's

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question about CCJ's. I've got one CCJ, which I admit is entirely my own fault.
It will be paid off in a couple of months. Once it's paid off am I right in thinking I can pay a some of money to have this put as settled on my credit file? And once this is done, some lenders may look on this more favourably?
Cheers

Yes about paying the fee for getting it marked settled, but I don't know how that will affect your credit rating as CCJ stays there for 6 years.
