Title says it all really!
Pretty much organised on most fronts bar the florist. How did you find your florist? I'm fairly clueless on that front so would appreciate any advice!

I did go into one florist but they weren't very helpful. Has put me off slightly!
Might try Googling or a wedding fair I guess. Trouble is, you don't often know who is going to be at a wedding fair and the clock is starting to tick!0 -
If you don't know anyone who can recommend then I would say the same as doublemummy.
I googled florists in the area, looked on their websites and then emailed those that looked good for a bit of information and an indication price wise. From there I narrowed it down based on how well they came across in their emails and the price. Then when we were local (we are getting married a long way away from where we live, so visited for a weekend and had a very busy wedding planning weekend) we visited a couple and decided from that. As it happened we met with one really helpful florist who gave input and helped us decide what we wanted, showing us how they would go together etc and the other florist seemed really uninterested and just gave us photos to look at, no actual flowers, and gave no assistance. So when we came out of the second meeting we knew that we would go with the first florist, simple. It turned out his quote was cheaper too and for more flowers. Win win. Can't wait to see them all in a couple of weeks!
Where are you getting married? If you give us a bit more information people may be able to give you some suggestions

some more info such as date and location would help
but i just started with a chatty email and the ones who gave chatty emails back i replied to (none of this one line replies they get deleted right away) I also said that i didnt really know what i wanted and then i went through them and the most helpful ones got a second reply then i got rid of the ones that were too much on the third email and then i had narrowed it down to two so i haggled and the cheaper one got the job
do you have a clear idea of what you want? do you have a budget? do you know what you want the flowers for? (eg centrepieces Brides bouquet, bridesmaid/s bouquet, flower girls bouquets/petals to throw, table decorations, aisle/pew decorations, buttonholes, corsages etc) do you have a colour scheme? real or fake? do you want to keep them/sell them on/ dispose of them in the case of real ones?
the more you can answer the more we can helpThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -

Yes, thank goodness for Google and websites. Not sure why I didn't think of that before (doh!).

Double Mummy, that's a good way of narrowing it down!
Bridesmaid are wearing pink and theme is pink and white - bit vintage. Budget will be £500 (max!!!) I think. Not really sure what that would get me. My friend who got married a couple of years ago tells me flowers are quite expensive. I would like fresh flowers and will probably give them all away at the end of the night.0 -
We just googled, looked for ones that looked professional, but not too expensive. Then we met with the top 3 and discussed our ideas and decided on the one that we think "got" what we were saying the most.
Flowers are quite expensive, yes...but it depends what you want...Do you want them to do table centres etc, or just the flowers for the wedding party?
(we're in Oxford btw - so can offer recommendations if you go that way more than MK)

Ours were thrown in with the package however, we went to meet with them twice and both times i was really unimpressed with the attitude so i spoke to venue and got the money refunded. I then went to three florists in my area and asked for there price - one was very enthusiastic but overpriced us. One was very helpful and very cheap.
Tob table arrangement from two i didn't book were between 60 and 90 pound. The one i went with is 30 pound. Just to give you an idea of pricing.
The first florist offered to do me (and i did not want it) a gerbera floating in a fishbowl for £20! Crazy prices:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0 -
