Hi there
New to all of this but I think its time to get involved. Been a member for a while but just hovered around the site, reading but not taking it in. Now I think its time!
Sat here on a Saturday night after yet another weekend where we can’t afford to do a single thing – not even go to our local for one single beer, no food in the house worth eating no alcohol in the house and a bleak looking month yet again scraping by from week to week, dodging the window cleaner etc.
I think we’ve been deluding ourselves that we aren’t in that much debt or that its not that bad ‘cause on the outset it appears we are ok. Not really.
A combination of taking on a mortgage 1 ½ yr ago , a drop in salary and an increase in the general cost of living whilst carrying on as if its all the same has got us into a bit of a mess.
It has now become obvious that we have a problem that needs addressing.
Not really much of a post I know but just wanted to get it out in the open and do something about it as of now. Tomorrow is the start.
Good to know that this place exists and from now on this will be the site that I go on instead of online shopping ones I can’t afford. I’ve deleted them all from my favorites already. No more spending on stuff I don’t need and no excuses!
Bit nervous as I post this but just wanted to take the 1st step!

Hello and welcome to the forums. It's not easy when you realise the reality of the situation, the good thing is now you've had the LBM you can hopefully get the help and support you need (and maybe just be aware of spending habits).
There is a lot of support on here, and also a lot of people who have great knowledge and wisdom, so do post if you need to.
Good luck to you.0 -
Post an SOA so people can give you ideas on making spending cuts. I'd stop having your windows cleaned.0
