LOL.
Calm down dear.....;)
I don't mind Foxy when he's in a contemplative mood.
He can sometimes raise interesting points to debate.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Is this a good or bad thing??
A good thing, although unlikely, if not impossible.
Good thread though.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

Good thread though.
3m new houses by Monday - I think I'd be edging more towards the impossible than unlikely.
If you think 3m new homes dropping into supply is good you must be gutted that at current supply rates it would take the best part of 30 years to build that many.0 -
It isnt impossible perse. I suggest you see the number of former armed forces bases (some of which are VAST) available. All it takes is the planning office to stop being a bunch of c you next tuesdays and it could happen.
Of course, it wont.
The costings also need reviewing.
Having done a renovation on a 5 bed detached and forked out nigh on 30K on renovation alone, there would be very little profit after labour, certification and of course administration costs (health and safety, land searches etc). Installation of services alone would set you back close to 10k if you in a relatively difficult to reach area. The latest Building regs are very, very strict on insulation values and pretty pricey to attain.
You then have local services, schools, dentists, doctors, the dole office in northern areas to include.0 -

Not gutted, just disappointed.
For me, it's not about winning an argument over an anonymous internet adversary (well, I suppose it is, in this context), but more of a belief in what's fairer for more people.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0
