i personally have not had any names on any of mine (i'm in scotland don't know if that makes a difference) the only thing you'd need to worry about is collection, if you collect at the station you need to use the same card you paid for them with to insert in the self service machine that prints them for you. however, in theory, you could have them posted to address of the person they are for or to your house then you give them to them, i don't know if you have to sign for them or not (can't remember) but as long as someone was home to sign for them if that's needed i don't think that would be a problem0 -

I see several people have replied saying no they don't have names on.
But actually they do, in my experience, though only in the very small print, and only a surname.
I haven't got a ticket on me to check - but tickets from the First Great Western ticket machines (I assume they're mostly the same machine type, so it may be all) have a surname on the bottom line somewhere. Not obvious, and probably not a problem, but worth thinking about. I think you can actually change the name when booking - there's a section saying is this for you or someone else? - as far as I can recall.
So probably not a problem, but I think a name IS on at least some tickets.0 -
Last time I got tickets for myself and my Dad to travel together they were printed with my surname at the bottom of each ticket. HTH.

Re the tickets with names on.I have tickets to use end of April, bought partly with my last Telegraph evoucher in January & delivered to my home- no names anywhere on the outward or return tickets, just a seperate card with my name address etc on.I also have a return part of tickets that I had to book in a hurry in March so had to be collected from the machine at the station, using the card I had paid the balance on and the booking reference number, and my name is on the bottom right hand corner of the seat reservation ticket and in the middle of the lower edge on the other ticket with the train details on.0

My surname was at the bottom of the tickets I bought last week. I bought for 8 of us, holding 2 railcards.
We travelled together but on different tables, and the ticket inspectors took no notice of my surname at the bottom of the ticket, they just checked it was valid and that the other person had a railcard.52% tight0 -
I have bought some tickets to be collected at the self service machine. As the tickets cost less than £10 the e-voucher covered the whole amount and I had nothing to pay but it tells me I need the payment debit/credit card to collect them from the machine. I'm confused, anyone know how this works please?0

Any credit card/ debit card will do . Don't know what happens if you have neither though.BigMac1989 wrote: »I have bought some tickets to be collected at the self service machine. In the past when I didn't have to pay for my ticket because I used an e-voucher, I've inserted my debit/credit card into self service machine eventhough no payment was taken from it and had no problems collecting ticket.0 -
If my OH has a Network Railcard, can I book the tickets, or does the booking have to be in their name. We are travelling together.0
