Hi been lurking for ages my first post!
I need a new pc.
Cheap and cheerfull. I'm a silver surfer so do not do games.
Email, Googling and research is all I really need.
Tower and LCD moniter.

Seeing as you don't do games..

Look at the clearance PCs on currys website ( still with full 12 months guarantee).
The EI systems 204 at £159 is a good buy:

Don't buy one with less than 512MB of memory.

Then add the monitor of your choice. But don't buy it from currys. Look on ebuyer.com - £88.17 delivered for a 17" TFT ( smaller TFTs are even cheaper)..

Under £250 is easily achievable.
I personally would not get one with windows vista at the moment ( give it 6 months for proper driver support and for bugs to be fixed ). If you do want one with vista then there are base units on ebuyer at £229 inc vista ( Acer T180 model).
