Hi all, I need some ideas for a birthday present for my OH, hes gonna be 28 on thursday, im pretty skint but reckon I can scrape together roughly £40 - £50, all ideas please folks.
So far i have got him a years subscription to Mens health magazine by using my tesco vouchers :money:
and
I will be taking him for something to eat at Cafe uno also cause I have a clubcard deal token.
The thing is cause I have used the vouchers I feel like I have been real tight although he does know that cause im trying to pay off debts that its not gonna be a real expensive gift this year.
thanx all in advance

Hi Newmum1. What are your OHs interests? Could you get him something to do with those?
Other ideas might: If a footie fan perhaps order something online from his favourite teams site or visit their shop if a local team (Aston Villa and Bham City have shops onsite and there is a west Brom shop at Merry Hill). Perhaps tickets for a gig/theatre/sporting event. Or one of those Red Letter day packages - not sure how pricey these are though. Maybe a nice framed picture/photo.
If you give details of his hobbies might be able to come up with more ideas.

He's a bit difficult really
he likes football but does not support any team
hes likes gambling as such but he has poker games and so forth
he thinks clothes are boring
so really im just looking for something that is differentn but not too pricey.
red letter days are really expensive i looked into those at xmas0 -
Mmm let us think - maybe a game of some description. Does he like alcohol? If yes, perhaps a wine/beer making kit. Some nice cufflinks or tie pin.
I notice you are from Bham - might be worth contacting Ackers (based near small heath train station) to see if they have any cheap deals on day activities (climbing, skiing etc). Not sure of their contact details, sorry.
Or if he likes gambling perhaps take hime to the dogs in Hall Green or Perry Barr - you might not want to encourage his gambling but the dogs is a cheapish night out. You could agree a small kitty so that it does not come too costly.
Hope these ideas help.0 -
Feel like I am stating the obvious:
Find a baby sitter
Cook him a fabulous meal with booze
Wear your favourite underwear
Share a romantic bath
Roger him senseless
That should do it

hello my dh turned 28 in november. i got him a load of sweets that he used to buy when he was kid, from sweet sentiments online and a big jar from ikea for him to empty them into. also got series 1-3 of maid marion (used to be on bbc1, tony robinson etc) as he used to love it as a kid. and a few different bottles of cider which he hadnt tried before.
he was extremely chuffed, so much so, he shared his sweets with me!
for xmas i got him a guitar starter kit which he's learning how to play (his dad used to play and i got the impression he might like a go too), some odd items of clothing, and an empire magazine subscription- went down rather well too, and a lush for men box.0 -
HI
Why not give him a personalised candle. For valentines day i ordered a personalised keepsake candle. it was a hollow candle and you put a tealight inside and it illuminates the outside. i had pictures of me and my boyfriend on it. it was a cube candle and it had our pics on all three sides and a message at the back and it cost £30 so its within your budget.
