    If you settle the debt today it will then take a while to hit your credit report with a settled mark, but whatever you do this debt will be completely cleared and removed from your credit report once the 6 years is up even if it's not payed.

    The debt will only be cleared once the OP has paid it.

    After 6 years the debtor will be unable to pursue it through the courts, and it will not show on the OPs credit reference data, but it can still be pursued and is not "completely cleared".

    I know it will be passed on and the harrasing calls from jobsworths will occur demanding payment plans.

    They really need to bring back debtors prison for that kind of scum.
