Fizzy Drink Addiction

I used to drink quite a lot of Coke, Fanta and similar and then I had the realisation that I'm basically drinking pointless sugar.
Now I tend to think of it like this - I could eat a big cookie instead of a bottle of coke and it'd be the same calorie consumption. It'd probably be healthier as well, slightly more nutritious and not pure sugar.
Now I have a cookie addiction, oops.Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”

Go with the fizzy water approach. You'll have withdrawals potentially due to the caffine and sugar but at least with the water you wont feel like your depriving yourself or miss the feeling in your mouth that pop gives. After a few months you can then try and ween yourself of the fizz as i find having to much pop really bloats my stomach2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

I used to have a massive Dr P addiction, usually drinking about 3 litres a week on average. This year i decided to cut down to 20 litres for the year, which is a decrease of 136 litres! (Wow i never put it down in actual numbers before now). So far this year i have had 6 litres, so another 14 to go (or 28 500ml bottles). I try to get the Zero as much as possible, and always buy it when it's on a deal. At least i save money by refusing to buy it full price, to be honest at the moment i find it too much at 2 for £2 which is helping curb it a bit.0

I get through about 6 cans of Diet Pepsi a week, in summer I drink more Evian. I wouldn't want to give them up but I'm not sure that's addiction.
There are research studies that say sweeteners are bad and others which say it's fine so I think in the end you believe the opinion that seems valid to you.
I'd suggest looking for sugar free squash for the fizzy water plus squash to avoid ingesting more sugar.0
