T.K.Maxx's inconsistent price structure policy

  • TK MAXX are not a discounter. They are an OFF PRICE retailer.

This means they have buyers who buy job lots of current season (And some last season) in cash. This means they can sell it so cheap.

As others have said, the reduction is based on the cost of buying that item from that supplier. Not a universal price for that item. That pricing policy is consistent across the company

Any discounts on slow selling stock are done company wide, and not at store level for consistency

You have to root around a bit, but you may find a bargain. I appreciate you find this confusing, but the price depends on what they paid for it!

If you don't like it, I suggest you vote with your feet and shop elsewhere. Hope that clears things up!

Well Claire, personally I've spent the last 18 months in a right tizzy, wondering if the great unsatisfied TK Maxx price quandry would ever be resolved. And now you've come along to set my mind at rest. Phew!

But wait! It seems you haven't actually dealt with the main issue, which was why the prices varied on the same item from store to store.

Curses! I continue to wait for the fateful day when my mind will be at rest.
