Because everyone who texts will then be kept on their database which i suppose they will use in the future to offer goods and services.
Or some companies make money by selling their databases to other companies.
At the end of the day every competition on here is so they get advertising without paying thousands and thousands to TV & Media organisations.

I dont mind the odd marketing email or call, if its for a decent prize.
