Private Pension Contributions

Hi all

Just checking this is correct - as a HRT payer do you always have to put in 80% of what you want to put into your pension and reclaim back the higher 20%

Ergo if you want to put in 10x it will only "cost" 6x but you have to put in 8x and claim back 2x?

Isn't there an easier way to put in 6x and claim back the remaining 4x?

Would like to make a single additional contribution e.g 6 to become 10 but don't want to have to put in 8 up front.

Cheers
