double payments taken from an account

My car payment is taken out of my account on the sameday every month. In November for some reason London Scottish (who i have the finance with) took 2 payments out (i was not behind on any payments) They did credit the one payment back into my account BUT because the initial 2 payments were taken my account was then short when it came to other bills to be paid and i then incurred charges from both my bank and from the other companies who didn't get paid. Where do I go with this?

Unfortunately you have left it a little late, ideally you would have spotted it within a day or so of it occurring and so could have had an immediate refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee and therefore avoided some of the charges.

Ultimately I would contact the London Scottish (by letter) with copies of the statements/ letters showing the charges applied due to their mistake and as for a full refund within 14 days as they were a direct result of their error.
