Get a prescription for Dobovet cream from your doctor.
It's greasy, you put it on at night and wash it well in the morning (I use soak n float shampoo from Lush) but it works wonders.
You can't use it much it's a steriod, but little and often is amazing.I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0 -
Additionally, L'Oreal have just launched an SLS-free shampoo, called 'ever pure' and it's currently on 2 for £9 (ish) at Tesco.I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0

Iv got eczema, at the moment the only trouble area is also my scalp, i get prescribed a huge tub of petroleum jelly as a moisturizer and the medicated ointments (NOT CREAMS!!!!!!-creams in my opinion are useless on severe eczema, ointments have a vaseline type consistancy and act like a proper barrier and moistorize alot better)
At night il put the petroleum jelly on my scalp and rub it in problem patches, as i shower in the morning that removes the greasyness, i apply a little more after blowdrying my hair, then use a dry shampoo to take away the greasy look from my hair.0 -
I had a really bad itchy scalp a few years ago, I thought it may have been eczema as I had it on my arms as well. It was really itchy, I used coal tar shampoo initially, but after 5 or 6 hours after washing my hair, it would start to get itchy again. My hair was getting thinner as well from all the skin flakes dropping off or stress or something, I don't know. My solution was the Body Shop Ginger Shampoo as well. After a week of washes my scalp was clear, and now my hair is a bit thicker (not as thick as what it use to be though).0

Thank you all you lovely people for your suggestions - its also comforting to know that I'm not suffering alone!
I wash & condition my hair 5 or 6 days a week (I have naturally fine, flat hair that needs a lot of care to look reasonable) so I'm sure that's not helping my problem but I have I have a long list of things to try now - starting with SLS-free shampoo!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Okay so I started with Naked shampoo & conditioner, used it virtually every day for a week but it made no difference, my scalp still felt like it was on fire and it was still snowing profusely all over my right shoulder:eek:.
So at the end of last week I started using the new L'Oreal Everpure Smooth range - and WOW! After just 5 days the difference is amazing, my scalp has calmed right down and I no longer feel the urge to rake my nails across my head every 30 seconds. I still have some flakes here and there which I'm assuming is residue and will soon disappear altogether now that I'm not scratching constantly.
Can't recommend the Everpure stuff highly enough, a but pricey but on offer in Tescos 2 for £9 atm.
Thanks a million chaps! :T:T:T£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
