First time buyer

First of all id like to say thank you to all who will read and post to this topic of mine.

Unfortunately i am going to be a 100% mortgage member (not the best i no, but circumstances cant be chosen)

I am a first timer buyer (if the topic doesnt help!!) and have been to my bank with my partner to see about a mortgage, now i have read what has been posted on the site and banks seem to be frowned upon.. the reason i did this was to get an estimate of how much we could get for a mortgage.
Now... i have seen and veiwed a property twice and we are going to put in an offer, this is the taxing part, obviously i need to make a deffinite choice of a lender or broker to go with.

does anyone have any tips, help, advice or could even recommend a broker/lender that would suit my needs?

Any help is much widely taken into account and thanked for personally as i am in need of help here as we need as much as possible before the property goes!!

Also i live in bolton - if anyone can recommend help in the area (sorry if this isnt allowed)

Thanks Paul

    Hi Paul
Firstly there is nothing wrong with banks as suppliers of mortgages. If you need 100% there are fewer schemes but still a fair bit to choose from. An independent broker that does not charge fees will tell you what choices you have and may recommend better than what you have seen. These days location of broker doesnt make much difference as we all have telephones and the internet.
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)
  • We have now had our offer accepted, so now is the scary process.

i no you cant "tout" for business on here, but can anyone recommend me any good brokers or lenders? like i say the offer has been accepted so now the ball needs to start rolling, like the post above says telephones and internet are a good form, but face to face is better for me, but general advice in which way we need to get going would be great!!

thank you for the post Mr helpful
