Hi I am a single parents and have been unemployed for about 6 months. I owe quite a bit on credit cards and I am really struggling to pay it off each month although I am. Im very lucky in one hand as I do live with my parents and they are a great support. I still pay board and all my bills. I havent a clue what to. I can only pay the minimun each month with means the amount that I owe is getting higher. I would change credit cards but with been unemployed I would just get turned down. As Im struggling to get a job and HATE been on job seekers!! IN a few weeks im going to set up my own business from home so fingers crossed I should get a bit more income. But Im getting really worried I feel like I cant get out of this mess

Have you considered bankruptcy at all? I know it sounds big and scary and still has something of a taboo, but as you have no assets (living with parents) and no income it would seem a solution to wipe the slate clean and start again. Maybe you need to ring a few insolvency practitioners and have a chat with them? or pop along to your nearest Citizens advice bureau? GOOD LUCK!0

As your parents know your situation, perhaps you could ask them if you could stop paying board and put that money towards paying off your cards?
Do you know the APR of them? Perhaps it's wise to throw everything you can at the one with the highest rate to get it down, or can you swap them to a 0% card? Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
