I've just phoned up Halifax and received an offer in principle. Does anyone what the chances are of it failing from here and what could influence it. The women on the phone said my credit score was good enough so there should not be a problem

If you ahve passed the credit check, its based on a valuation of the property and whether you pass an affordability check (ie more is coming in than is going out and there is some money left over).I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Do they do more credit checking or is that all done at the offer in principle stage. The property has a home report of 70 I'm paying 65 an my mortgage is 55. Costing me 270 a month my salary is currently 1100 so that should be ok I hope0
