can devt advisors restart the clock ticking on old debts

if a debt advisor has contacted debts on your behalf that are now nearing the 6 year statute barred will this reset the clock ticking so to speak back to the begining

If the contact constitutes an acknowledgement then yes. The Limitation Act refers to acknowledgement by the debtor or their agent.any acknowledgment or payment— .
(a)may be sent by the agent of the person by whom it is required to be made under that section; and .
(b)shall be made to the person, or to an agent of the person, whose title or claim is being acknowledged or, as the case may be, in respect of whose claim the payment is being made.0
