1. Was writing reports for companies.
2. Was Networking in computer I was looking into doing Cisco certificate.
Thanks

There are 3 strands of funding to start in April, mostly delivered through FE Colleges (vocational ones, NVQs BTEC etc) from ESF (European Social Fund)
If you were made redundant then there is the Skills Support for Redundancy.
For people who are unemployed the is the Skills Support for Unemployment.
For people still in work but who have low level qualifications or none there is the Work Place Learning.
While JCP will be referring people onto the relevant funding source, they are not experts and it will be best to speak to your local FE College, someone in student services should be able to help but also try Employer Engagement, Projects or Partnerships teams.
The funding is not prescriptive in which qualifications can be funded but there are general rules they have to follow so best to ask the questions & see if they can help.
Good luck.0 -
I'd be surprised if they could do either of those. Ours could do English & Maths courses and ECDL Basic computing courses. They could also do Forklift licenses occassionally.
The local college had courses but only had funding for the same as the jobcentre could provide!0 -

As per my post above, the funding will start from April and will include many more courses than previously fundable as the rules are very different.0 -
I have a friend who attends learn direct, to do some courses, and she gets her bus fares refunded.
I signed up to to the ECDL with learn direct, but they won't do the same for me, and it's the same jobcentre ???
I have been offered short courses by my job centre, but you won't get anything too good.
They offer short courses in office skills, team building, introduction to retail or social care, and they are through the local adult education scheme at local colleges.
One I went to was a waste time, because there were people in the group who could barely speak English and some could hardly read and write. The tutor struggled with so many different abilities in one group.
So all I have seen are very basic courses. Your best bet would be to ask if you can study at a local college, and make sure you stay below the permitted hours.0
