Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but couldn't find with the search function...
Basically myself and my ex girlfriend bought a house together. We pooled together our money (from family) and put into one big deposit. The majority was from my side and I didn't sign a declaration of trust (I say this because I can't remember whether that means we are joint tenants or tenants in common).
What I wanted to ask was that now she has negotiated to buy me out of the mortgage. I lose out massively but she has me over a barrel for various reasons. It's taken about 10 months and I have paid the mortgage on it the whole time. About a month ago I signed a transfer of deeds form with the amount to be paid upon transfer agreed on there, at a date to be agreed once her new mortgage company had finalised a date.
Now another month has rolled round, as I have signed the transfer of deeds form, and the delay is at her end sorting out her new mortgage, I assume the onus is still on me to keep up my half of the mortgage payments? I just wondered if I had any getout of not paying it now I've signed the form, but didn't want to cut off my nose to spite my face.
Thanks

Until she has bought you out you remain liable on the full mortgage (not just half). But that aside, have you discussed things with her to see if she is willing and able to pay the full mortgage until the transfer completes?0 -
the fact is you are both equally liable , not one or the other for the whole amount or just 50%. until the process has been seen through to completion one of you needs to make sure the mortgage is paid or you will start hurting your credit rating and the bank will try to take action. if you know shes not going to pay it, then you need to!0
