Finally got on top of my credit card debt, after about 2 years of making minimum payments on £6000 of credit cards, I've hammered them in the last 6 months and paid off a nice big chunk
Now have about £4000 left.... At the weekend I decided enough was enough and had to take the hard choice to sell off my personal possessions, so sold my car for £2500, sold my DJ equipment for £1000 and the debt is down to £500.....
So that's my £300 a month on minimum payments nearly wiped out and I can put that into savings! ...Just wanted to share my joy!
Only downer is that I've lost my favourite "toys" and I'm now car'less but at least I have my push bike
....Time to get fit during the summer months, save some cash and buy a new car before the winter without buying it on any form of credit!
Word of warning to anyone else... DON'T ever buy stuff you can't afford and if you ever get a bit of cash whilst you have debt, use it to get rid of the debt! DEBT SUCKS, it's simply a deep black hole and it's very tough to crawl out of... It's taken me a good 2 years!

And totally agree with you what you said! We have been totally debt free since last November, and it is a joy to get paid and have all the money to ourselves!!
Debt is a big black hole, that is very difficult to get out of, but well worth it!! I will never be in debt again.0 -
