Tesco Loan Screwed up my Credit Rating.. Complain?

You got yours sorted quicker than me. I'm still chasing Cahoot (part of Santander) to get mine resolved.salsa_rara wrote: »Credit report is now amended... But it took me a week and an awful lot of stress to get it sorted...
I think it's a case of who to complain to and why. They didn't make it easy at all... Ruined my reputation for months without my knowledge. So should I complain about it or would it just be a waste of paper.?
Was what Tesco reported correct, but they've amended it out of goodwill as they understood it wasn't your fault? In which case you have no complaint against Tesco. But you could complain to your bank.
Or did Tesco report it incorrectly? Have they admitted this? If so, you have a case for complaining to them.
In either case I don't see why you couldn't ask for a goodwill gesture from the company who got it wrong. Might get you £20.0 -

Trust me it took an awful lot of chasing and talking to the managers...!!!
Tesco reported incorrectly, they should never had put 'ap' against my records...0 -
In which case I'd go back to them and thank them for correcting it, but say that in view of the time and inconvenience caused by their mistake, and the fact that you could have missed out on your mortgage, would they like to give you a goodwill gesture?salsa_rara wrote: »Trust me it took an awful lot of chasing and talking to the managers...!!!

Did you pay any fee's for the mortgage upfront? Or any phone calls for the decline and subsequent chasing. Surely they should reimburse you to call their call centre is its not an 0800 number on a land number

I was on the phone constantly to Tesco (about 5 times a day), then the bank & the Credit Agency.... So my phone bill's going to be skyhigh....0 -
Worth mentioning, but you don't want them to push you down the route of giving evidence of how much your phone bill is. Because in the scheme of things, even a "sky high" phone bill isn't going to be that expensive.salsa_rara wrote: »I was on the phone constantly to Tesco (about 5 times a day), then the bank & the Credit Agency.... It's the inconvenience that you want acknowledged rather than the actual costs. That's why you want to ask for a goodwill gesture rather than compensation.0 -
I'd want both.
Compensation for the costs incurred (time, phone etc).
And a goodwill payment in addition.0 -

Did they admit they had made a mistake in putting the AP on? If they did, perhaps chug after a token of goodwill.
If they didn't admit being at fault, I think I'd personally be inclined to keep my head down in case they changed their minds!LBM July 2006. Debt free 01 Sept 12 .. :T
