Help! IVA, Redundancy and DMP

:cry:I am at the final stages of putting a proposal forward for an IVA and my husband has just been informed he may be made redudant. I have just rung to tell my debt management company that and now they are saying that they probably won't put the proposal forward. My husbands firm have not put him on notice yet as they are looking for another position for him. Did I do the right thing to tell them. I am now worried about the baliffs coming in and taking stuff. Its been going on for a year now mainly due to me being ill. I have had a couple of court summons. What happens now? They have suggested a possible DMP temporarily. I really wish a truck would just run me over..

Bailiffs are unlikely in most cases, even when there is a CCJ.

Can you explain what has happened with the court summons? Have you replied? A CCJ been granted? Payments ordered? etc......

DMP might be a short term measure. Depends on circumstances really.

  • Thank-you for replying at my wits end. The debt management company told me to send the court summons to them. So I have not filled anything out yet. I just keep sending all the stuff to them and just as I thought it may be coming to an end this happens. We are still hopful about hubbys job as they seem really keen to find him something. Also hes been with them for 29 years so I am assuming they are not to keen on paying the redundancy pay. If I hadn't told them they would have just gone ahead and we would have dealt with whatever happened. I am a bit of a believer in honesty is the best policy though and now I am panicking big time. I didn't really want a DMP as an IVA is more binding and I might be able to sleep for the first time in months.
