HSBC / Countrywide Survey

Options
My mortgage is with First Direct and my buyers is with HSBC. She has appointed her own solicitor but Countrywide have just done the survey on my place. Do Countrywide also have a bad rep for their surveys? Or would it be the same as any other surveyor? He asked questions about the sold price, how many offers, how much interest it had which I think he should already know some of it and the rest is none of his business and irrelevant
Would any hold up / extra cost only be in relation to the buyer of my place? Or could there be extra work for my solicitor?
She is a first time buyer and the seller for the house I'm moving to is going into rented accommodation.
So, I'm expecting a few weeks delay and more stress but probably no extra costs in solicitor fees.
Am I understanding my situation correctly? A delay of up to a month I can handle.

Countrywide conducted our survey on behalf of Accord, part of YBS on the 27th of February. We still haven't had the results or a formal mortgage offer.

We had preliminary results that showed 2 prices and it took 3 weeks to get to the bottom of it. We think one price is as it stands, unfinished as it's a new build, and one price when it's completed.

    Good luck!

Search "HSBC" and "countrywide" on this forum and read some of the recent threads to see what you're potentially in for with a HSBC mortgage in the process. I'm going through the process as a buyer at the moment and my valuation was carried out 6 weeks ago. I still don't have a completion date but it is looking like we might complete next week. There has been a lot of delays, and lots of pointless searches for me to get done which were only requested when we asked for a completion date. To answer your question though, none of this has resulted in the seller having to pay any extra fees. Don't bank on it happening in a month though.

Countrywide will be doing the mortgage survey to gauge whether the price your buyer has paid for your house is realistic for the mortgage company to lend, nothing to worry about all very normal.
