  • Thank you very much for this - if I manage to get tickets for my son he will be well pleased. We live in Preston but I probably wouldn't have found out about it if you hadn't posted :)

We live in Dundee and had this event last year. Out of around 30-40 people we know that live in Dundee that registered for tickets we were the only ones we know of that got them, even though they apparently prioritise local people. There was a load of complaining in local press. My advice is if you want tickets get as many people to register for them for you,(grannys etc) but get them to put a young age on the application as apparently that helps. Another tip is if you work for the local authority ask to help. A person I know manned the lost child stall last year, had lunch backstage with the stars, fantastic view of the stage and not one lost kid all weekend! Result!!
Oh...and the whole thing was brilliant apparently so good luck!:j :j

If this is inapropriate please remove it, but if anyone has got a couple of spare Big Weekend tickets they can let me have I'd be very grateful. i won 2 tickets for me and my wife but the kids would have to come with us and I need 2 more tickets. I'd be willing to donate some cash to a charity of your choice and collect the tickets from you.
    Thanks in advance

Mutley, i haven't got any tickets because i didn't win, even though it said that preference will be given to those that live near preston and i do! Anyways, just thought i'd let you know that children have to be aged 14 and above to go, incase your children are younger.

I was going to post to say that too but then I checked the Radio 1 website and they must have changed their policy - it now says: 'There is no age limit. If you are under 14 you must be accompanied by a responsible person who is at least 18 years old. You will need to present some ID.'
