Having looked at the data sheet, the product seems relatively innoccuous. It is deemed an irritant and may be causing your problem, however, the emphasis on harm seems be exposure to the eyes.
It is worth remembering as well, that these data sheets are there to satify packaging and labelling regulations - not on the use of the product.
It is possible that it may be just water/moisture itself that may be causing your problems, however, I do now suspect your skin is reacting to the product.
Are you using the correct dilution? This could cause problems if the mixture is too strong.
Hopefully you doctor will supply some creams that will help your situation.0 -
Your line manager should be referring you to the employers occupational health provider asap, in addition to you visiting your GP or does the employer view an employees GP as a free alternative to them providing an OH service?
yes they must do because I have never even heard of an employers occupational health provider. What is this?!
very sure we are using the correct dilution as we have guides on our sinks telling us how much to put in but its an interesting thought about it maybe being the water. I mostly work on the fish counter which, as you can imagine, means most of my day my hands are in the ice. Also we can be expected to cover more than one counter at a time (deli and hot chickens cover each other and meat and fish cover each other. We never mix)
This can mean washing your hands very frequently and you almost never dry them in between since you just dont have time. Will be calling up the doctors tomorrow (again!) and try and get an appointment. Keep your fingers crossed!0 -

They are people like BUPA who your employer ( if they use them) will send you to for medicals and maybe a second opinion to your own doctor for any problems you may be experiencing.
Im not sure whether all companies use these though as they are expensive to maintain.

Do check the dilution ratio you are using aspetopol at as it is a very strong detergent. Best make sure you use the pumps provided.
On your hand cleaning drying is one of the most vital parts of cleaning your hands. The moisture you are leaving behind is an ideal breading ground for bacteria. I am not sure about your skin but would imagine that it is not doing your hands any good either.
If your hands are not fully dried you cannot be sure that the washing procedure was completed successfully which in an environment where you are switching from one food group to the next is vital for food safety.0
