Update: Apparently, no objections received, so retrospective planning permission granted.
If I can find a news story link I'll post it.

Bizarrely its "approved with conditions", but good for them that it has actually been approved.
I'll have to take a drive by ;-)

its "approved with conditions
Only condition is :-
One assumes the drawings refrred to describe what is already there so hardly an onerous 'condition' !This decision relates to the drawings received o 21st March 2012 and the development shall not be carried out except in accordance with the drawings hereby approved.
Explanatory note reads :-
I think that's what most of us said from the start.Planning permission has been granted because the proposals accord with the policy statements in the NPPF regarding sustainability and in that the design is of an acceptable standard which would not substantially adversely affect the character of the area nor the amenity of nearby residents.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
I find the whole issue a little sad. Especially the monies that must have been spent. Presumably the council costs are a lot more than the planning fees.
Playing Devil's Advocate, I wonder if the original complainant (sun reflecting into house) realised that it wasn't that bad. I say this as over the last month, next doors greenhouse has been doing just that (it does each year), but you have to be in the right place in the living room, at the right time, with the right weather, even then it's only a matter of pulling a curtain for 20 mins or so.
Maybe nobody complained to the actual planning app as they'd since realised that they'd over-reacted a little. But in fairness, I can appreciate their initial upset, perhaps panic. Edit: maybe they didn't complain because they are now temporarily blinded and couldn't read the planning app notification. (that's not really funny is it - shall hang my head in shame!)
End of Devil's Advocate - what a hell of a lot of money, time and work, to go full circle, get no complaints, and change nothing!
Mart.
PS Wonder if the couple will upgrade to a plug-in Prius now?
