Exit Fees Offer - Strings attached

I have exited two mortgages in the last year with Bank of Ireland, and last week they offered me satisfactory refunds on both of them.
However, they like to call these "goodwill payments", which clearly they are not, and have asked me to accept the money "in full and final settlement" which I am reluctant to do in case the FSA makes them offer more.
Also, they want me to sign a confidentiality clause and I suspect therefore that what they are offering may be less than what may be available.
As far as I am aware, they are required by the FSA to pay these refunds, there is no "goodwill" involved, and I have no obligation to maintain confidentiality.
Has anyone else received such an offer?

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

i dont beleive it is compulsary at the moment for them to give you the fees back so it is a goodwill gesture at the moment. How much have they offered you - the total amount you paid? if so then there what are you expecting to hold out for? as for the confidentiality agreement i would think this is standard as they dont want you telling everyone otherwise they will be paying out more money as undoubtedly some people will not bother.
hope this helps.0
