Self Employed - Business expense question

I am self employed and was wondering if a laptop counts as an allowable business expense ?
I spent about £1500 on it - it is not for personal use and has enabled me to be successful at my work.
Would the total cost be considered an allowable expense / allowable capital expenditure ? Just a tiny bit confused and not finding much help online.
Appreciate any replies.
