Washable swim nappies for a disabled child

Options
x-posting this to the benefits board as there may be people with experience of this problem over there, but thought I should try here also as there may be some one here who has come across something whilst buying regular washables :)

My son is almost 7, in age 5/6 clothes. He is disabled and needs to swim in a nappy. Does anyone know where I can get washable nappies for a child of this age? I've been shoe-horning the poor love into Huggies swimmers which he really can't be comfortable in. I would prefer washable to disposable if possible, but anything is better than the current nappies!

Many thanks

  • Might be worth contacting http://www.weenotions.wahmall.co.uk/traderplus/?formaction=catdisplay&categoryID=1601
as they make their own products and might be able to scale some up for you.

(edited) i bought some stuff from them about 3 weeks ago but their internet shop seems to be closed at the moment. might be worth phoning them.

these are for over 28 lb Imse Vimse Swim pants
do a search under cloth nappies from http://www.naturalchild.co.uk/shophome/index.html

a company called Motherease also do some but i don't know how big they go to.

    hope you find some soon.

I emailed Wee Notions recently and they told me they're going to be open on March 1st. They've got the same date on their front page

I agree with Dianasnan they seem really good so it's probably worthwhile asking them if they can help :-)

I got mine from minki (- https://www.minkinappies.co.uk ) for my 6 year old.
I can't find them now on the website ,but if you e-mail her (it is a small company in Outer Hebrides) they may still do them.
    I think mine cost £10 .
They are easy to put on as they open flat then fasten with poppers .

Thank you for your help, everyone.

I'm really grateful for the links and help you have shared :)
  • I have a BEMA swim nappy for size 25-40lbs/11-18kgs. If that's big enough let me know and you can have it for the price of postage from France to your place. Or if you let me know before Tuesday my parents in law can post it on their return to the UK as they arrive on Sat/leave on Tue.
