Statute Barred

Hi I recieved a letter today detailing I owe money to Bryan Carter something to which I was unaware of but I believe it could be an old credit card, but I have been reading around and have learnt that after a certain time the debt becomes statue barred is that correct?

I am unsure how long I have been in the credit agreement it may well be around 6 years, but I was wondering is there anyway I can find out when i entered the credit agreement?

If you haven't paid or acknowledged the debt in writing for over 6 years, then it might be statute barred?

The only really reliable way to find out is to check your own records. If you don't have them any more, then you will probably just have to make an educated guess.
